A group of Somali women from the Canton of Zurich paid a visit to the office of the Somali Community of the Canton of Zurich, where they were warmly received by the leadership of the community. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Somali Community of the Canton of Zurich, Mr. Said Ali Hiddig.
Also in attendance were the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Switzerland and Austria, Mr. Mohamed Nur Amalow, the Deputy Chairperson of the Somali Community, Ms. Iqra Omar Hassan, as well as other key members of the community leadership.
During the meeting, Chairman Mr. Said Ali Hiddig delivered a welcoming and motivational speech, in which he warmly greeted the Somali women of the Canton of Zurich. He provided a comprehensive overview of the wide-ranging activities and services carried out by the Somali Community of the Canton of Zurich for the benefit of the Somali population in the region. He emphasized that the doors of the community office are open to all Somalis and highlighted the importance of collective support and cooperation in strengthening the community’s ongoing initiatives.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Nur Amalow, First Secretary of the Somali Embassy, praised the strong connection between the Somali Community of the Canton of Zurich and the local Somali population. He stressed the importance of sustained collaboration between the community organization and the Somali Embassy in Switzerland and Austria, noting that such cooperation plays a vital role in serving the interests of the Somali diaspora.
In conclusion, the Somali women who participated in the meeting pledged their full support to the Somali Community of the Canton of Zurich. They highly commended the valuable work accomplished by the community within a relatively short period of time and expressed their readiness to actively contribute to its future programs and activities.
These weekly meetings will continue, as the Somali Community of the Canton of Zurich plans to engage with other segments of the Somali society in the region. The goal is to further strengthen unity, cooperation, and social cohesion among Somalis living in Zurich and its surrounding areas.
