The Puntland Military Court has executed Deeq Abdul by firing squad after he was found guilty of murdering businessman Ahmed Tahliil Haji Aden.
The execution was carried out in the presence of the Bari regional police commander, the leadership of the regional Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and the chairman of the Puntland Five Regions Military Court, Abdirisaq Jama Abdulle.
The court chairman stated that the execution was carried out by the victim’s family, emphasizing that justice had been served. “This execution has been implemented, and it was carried out by those entitled to it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Puntland security agencies issued warnings to the public, noting an increase in killings related to clan disputes in the region.
The Puntland Police Command urged citizens to avoid actions that undermine Muslim values and dignity, warning that anyone committing murder would face execution by firing squad, as part of efforts to prevent recurring clan-based violence.
