Yinchuan, August 29, 2025 – Hon. Mohamed Jibril Mohamed, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Peace and Unity, Federal Republic of Somalia, participated in a major conference alongside Somalia’s Prime Minister H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, focusing on strengthening business connectivity between Somalia and China.

During the conference, the Prime Minister outlined Somalia’s investment policies and highlighted the country’s rich natural resources, presenting the National Transformation Plan (NTP) and its strategic importance for Somalia’s economic growth.

The Prime Minister invited Chinese investors to explore Somalia’s vast business opportunities, emphasizing priority sectors for bilateral cooperation, including:

Energy and natural resources development

Agriculture and livestock economy growth

Infrastructure development

Organized jointly by the Somali Embassy in China and the Ningxia Regional Government, the “Somalia-China Business Connectivity Conference” brought together over 100 Somali and Chinese companies, aiming to enhance economic cooperation and investment. The initiative positions Somalia as a key hub connecting Arab, African, and Asian markets.

Deputy Minister Mohamed Jibril Mohamed expressed his commitment to supporting Somalia’s economic diplomacy, fostering sustainable partnerships, and promoting Somalia as a prime destination for investment and trade.
