At COP30, Deputy Minister Hon. Yacqwub Mohamed Siyaad led Djibouti’s delegation alongside Minister Deeq Abdiaziz Mohamed.
During a side event on Climate Justice and Equity for Small States, he urged world leaders to commit to direct climate finance for vulnerable nations.
“Justice in climate action means empowering the smallest voices,” Hon. Yacqwub stated. “We seek a global system where no country is too small to matter.”
The Djibouti delegation co-signed the Small States Climate Finance Charter, which establishes mechanisms for simplified access to international funds.
