48 Somali Officers Graduate from Military Training Program in Uganda

Kampala, Uganda – A total of 498 officers, including 48 Somali officers from the Somali National Army (SNA), have successfully completed an intensive one-year military training program in Uganda.

The graduation ceremony was held earlier today and attended by several high-profile guests, including the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Uganda, H.E. Fardowsa Mohamed Qanyare, the President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Museveni, and senior officials from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

During the year-long program, the Somali officers received advanced military training aimed at strengthening their leadership skills, operational readiness, and coordination capabilities.

This initiative reflects the strong defense partnership between Somalia and Uganda, both of which continue to collaborate closely on regional peace and security efforts, particularly in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
